Section 14 · Chancellor

(1)

The Chancellor shall be appointed by the sponsoring body for a period of three years, with prior approval of the Visitor by following such procedure and on such terms and conditions as may be proscribed by the Statutes.

(2)

The Chancellor shall be the head of the University.

(3)

The Chancellor shall preside at the meeting of the governing body and shall, when the Visitor is not present, preside at the convocation of the University for conferring degrees or diplomas.

(4)

The Chancellor shall have the following powers, namely:-

(a)

To call for any information or record;

(b)

To appoint the Vice-chancellor,

(c)

To remove the Vice-chancellor;

(d)

Such other powers as may be prescribed by the statutes.
