Everything on cyberyukti.com and in the LawBook app (the "Platform") is general legal information for education and reference. It is not legal advice. Before you act on anything you read here, check the official text and, where your rights or money are at stake, consult a qualified advocate.
1. Not legal advice; not a law firm
CyberYukti is not a law firm and is not enrolled as an advocate. Reading the Platform, using its tools or writing to us creates no advocate–client relationship, and nothing you send us is privileged.
In keeping with the Bar Council of India Rules, the Platform does not advertise or solicit work for any advocate, and does not refer cases. By using it, you confirm that you are seeking information on your own initiative.
2. Independent platform
CyberYukti is privately run by Edure Labs. It is not a government website and is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, any government, ministry, court, police force or the Indian Cybercrime Coordination Centre. Names of authorities, helpline numbers and official links appear only so that you can reach them.
3. The law we publish
- Official text prevails. Acts, the Constitution, Bills, repealed Acts and rules are reproduced from official sources such as India Code and the Gazettes. If our text differs from the official publication, the official publication is correct.
- The law changes. Amendments, notifications and court rulings may take time to appear here. Each page shows its source, so check that it is still current.
- Old and new codes. The BNS, BNSS and BSA replaced the IPC, CrPC and Evidence Act from 1 July 2024. Offences committed before that date may still be governed by the old codes. Our comparisons show the nearest matching section; the match is not always exact in scope or punishment.
- Translations. Hindi and other language versions are provided to help you read. Some are prepared with machine assistance and reviewed by us. Only the authoritative text published by the Government is official.
4. Tools, calculators and guides
- Estimates, not decisions. Results for punishment, bail, limitation, cheque-bounce deadlines, consumer forums and similar questions depend on the facts you enter. They give the general rule, not the outcome of your case.
- Court holidays are not counted. Date calculators work in calendar days and do not account for court holidays, vacations or local closures, which can move a deadline. Never wait until the last date.
- Offence classification. Whether an offence is cognizable, bailable or compoundable can vary with State amendments and the facts. Where a classification is not settled, we say so instead of guessing.
- Draft templates. Templates are general and may need changes for your facts, court and State. Have them checked before you file them.
5. Cyber Zone
- We do not register complaints. CyberYukti is not a police station or a reporting portal. To report a cybercrime, call 1930 or file a complaint at cybercrime.gov.in, then follow the steps we show.
- Steps are general. Bank and police procedures differ, and recovering money is never guaranteed.
- Case studies. Case studies are based on reported incidents, with personal details changed or removed. They illustrate patterns and are not legal precedent.
- Helpline numbers. Numbers and links can change. Check them on the official site if a call does not connect.
6. Blog, news and quizzes
Blog posts and explainers reflect their authors' understanding at the date of writing. Legal news reports events as known when published and may later change. Quiz questions are for practice; they are not official exam material, and model answers may simplify the law.
7. Third-party content, links and ads
Links to other websites and advertisements by third parties are outside our control. We do not endorse them and are not responsible for their content, products or privacy practices. Comments are the views of the readers who post them.
8. No warranty; limited liability
We take care to be accurate, but the Platform is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, CyberYukti is not responsible for any loss arising from reliance on its content. The full terms are in our Terms of Use.
9. Corrections
If you find a mistake, use Report a mistake on the page, or write to contact@cyberyukti.com. We correct verified errors promptly.
