(1)

The Government may appoint for each district one or more District Educational Officers, and every such District Educational Officer shall exercise such powers and perform such functions as may be entrusted to him by or under this Act.

(2)

The Government may sanction the appointment of such number of officers and staff as may be necessary to assist the District Educational Officer.

(3)

The appointment to the posts sanctioned under sub-section (2) shall be made by such authority and in such manner as may be prescribed.

(4)

The powers and functions of the officers and staff appointed under this section shall be such as may be prescribed.
