Delete your account
Updated: 4 Nov 2026
This page explains how to delete your account and what happens to your data. It applies to the CyberYukti website and to the LawBook Android app (com.edurelabs.lawbook), both published by Edure Labs. They are one account.
Reading the law, using the tools and browsing the drafts need no account at all. You only have one if you chose to sign in.
1. Delete it yourself
This is the quickest way and needs nothing from us.
- In the LawBook app: Profile → Delete account.
- On the website: Account → Close account.
Both ask you to confirm, and both start the same 30-day closure described below.
2. Or ask us to do it
If you cannot sign in — you have lost the email address, or the phone with the app — write to admin@cyberyukti.com from the address on the account, with the subject Delete my account. We may ask you one or two questions to be sure the account is yours, because we will not close someone else’s account on a stranger’s word. We answer within 30 days and usually within a few days.
3. What happens, and when
| When | What happens |
|---|---|
| Straight away | Your profile photo is removed. You are signed out. |
| The next 30 days | Nothing else changes. This is a grace period: sign in again at any point in those 30 days and the closure is called off, with everything as you left it. |
| After 30 days | The account is closed for good. |
4. What is erased
- Your name, email address, phone number and profile photo
- Your age, gender, occupation, state and district
- Your short bio
- Your sign-in itself — the account cannot be opened again, by you or by anyone else, and the email address is released
5. What is kept, and why
- Comments you posted in public. These stay on the page, because other people have replied to them and a conversation with holes in it reads as if someone was censored. Your name and email are stripped from them, so nothing connects them to you.
- Counts with no name on them. How many people read a section, how many took a quiz. These never carried your name and cannot be traced back to you.
- A record of the closure itself, kept in a restricted internal archive that only Edure Labs staff can reach. We keep it to answer a later dispute, to meet legal, tax and audit duties, and to stop a closed account being used for fraud. It is not used for any other purpose, it is never shared, and it is never used to contact you.
6. Things to do before you close it
- Your saved sections, notes and highlights go with the account. If you want to keep them, open Account → Download my data on the website first and save the file.
- A closure cannot be undone after the 30 days. If you only want to stop the emails, you can do that from your account instead of closing it.
7. If something goes wrong
If the button does not work, or 30 days pass and you think the account is still open, write to our Grievance Officer at admin@cyberyukti.com. Your rights under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 are set out in our Privacy Policy; if you are not satisfied with our answer you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
