Section 1 · Short title

(1)

This Act may be called the Land Improvement Loans Act, 1883.Local extent and Commencement. - (2) It extends to the whole of India except [the territories which, immediately before the 1st November, 1956, were comprised in Part B States] [Substituted for the words 'Part B States' by the Adaptation of Laws (No. 2) Order, 1956.] but shall not come into force in any part of [territories to which this Act extends until such dates as the [State Government] [Substituted for the words 'a Part A States or a Part C State' by the Adaptation of Laws (No. 2) Order, 1956.] [ - ] [The words 'with the previous sanction of the Governor-General in Council' repealed by Act 8 of 1906, section 2.] may by notification in the [official Gazette] [Substituted by Government of India (Adaptation of Indian Laws) Order, 1937, for 'Local Official Gazette'.] appoint in this behalf
