धारा 1 · Short title, extent and commencement

(1)

This Act may be called the [Maharashtra Electricity Duty Act] [This short title was substituted for the short title 'the Bombay Electricity Duty Act, 1958' by Maharashtra 24 of 2012, Schedule entry No. 66, (w.r.e.f. 1-5-1960).].

(2)

It extends to the whole of the [State of Maharashtra] [These words were substituted for the words, 'State of Bombay' by the Maharashtra Adaptation of laws (State and Concurrent subjects) Order, 1960.],

(3)

It shall come into force on such date as the State Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint.
