धारा 61 · Cattle Trespass Act, 1871 to apply

(1)

Cattle trespassing in a reserved forest or in a protected forest shall be deemed to be cattle doing damage to a public plantation within the meaning of section 11 of the Cattle Trespass Act, 1871, and may be seized and impounded as such by any forest officer or police officer.

(2)

The Government may, by notification, direct that in lieu of the fines fixed by section 12 of the Act referred to in sub section (1), there shall be levied, in all or any of the areas to which this Act applies, for each goat or kid impounded under sub section (1), such fine not exceeding rupees five as they think fit.
